In 2021, after its success at the Venice International Film Festival in September, ITTV returned to Los Angeles with four days of events.
The rich program included meetings, panels, screenings and the celebration of some of the most talented Italian artists. Grammy winner Tiziano Ferro, actress and director Valeria Golino (Rain Man, The Morning Show), and restaurateur and TV personality Joe Bastianich (Master Chef) received the ITTV Award “Hand… the winner is”, by Fidia Falaschetti.
The festival opened with a family-focused event in San Pedro’s Little Italy with the screenings of some of the best Italian animated tv shows and films, including ithe extraordinary current “Mila”, a short about a little girl who survived bombings during WWII in Italy, by Cinzia Angelini and the international premiere of “Pinocchio and Friends” by Rainbow Group founded by Italian animator and comic book author Iginio Straffi -Straffi was honored with “Kinéo-ITTV Award” -. Last but not least ITTV screened “Puffins”, featuring the voice of Johnny Depp, “Arctic Friends”, series by ILBE Group Productions.
The day after, at the NeueHouse in Hollywood, an afternoon was dedicated to US audiovisual industry executives, with screenings of Italian tv series trailers and teasers, networking and panels about the impact of the web on tv and the Influence of global television in the era of streaming services. The panel program included: “From Home Video to Web TV” with legendary producer Vin Di Bona and distributor Niccolò Messina of Jungo TV; “Opening Boundaries -The Influence of Global Television and How These Changes Affect International Production”, with Ted Miller, Head of Global Television for CAA, Matteo Perale, co-founder Wiip, Lena Roklin, Talent Manager for Luber Roklin Entertainment, Lorenzo De Maio, Pres. De Maio Entertainment, Matt Brennan, Television Editor for the Los Angeles Times, and Jeremy Spiegel Executive Producer of Extra.
The Festival closed on November 2 with a gala, featuring the 2021 ITTV Awards. Tiziano Ferro, Joe Bastianich, actress Condola Rashad (Billions, Sex and the City) and actor Costa Ronin (The Americans, Homeland), celebrity Elisabetta Canalis and the timeless celebrity Pinocchio were among the guests.
